Today we got a little later start than expected, but still wanted a travel pretty far into Serbia. Our first stop, however, was in Skopje before leaving Macedonia. On our way into Skopje we picked up a backpacking Frenchman looking for a ride into the city and spared him the 15 kilometers or so on foot. Skopje was interesting to walk around, but I wouldn't say that it was the most beautiful or impressive of the cities we have seen. I think it was important to at least see it though, as it is always good to open your eyes to as much of the world as you can. After leaving Macedonia we drove into Serbia and were as we got closer to Belgrade and the sun was going down, we decided that would be our destination for the evening. We stopped off at a rest area with wifi and found a campground near Belgrade and some vague directions to there. It ended up being a nearly impossible challenge actually finding the campground and the first people we asked had never even heard of the place. We eventually saw one and only small and unclear sign for the campground and the campground was surprisingly nice and if they ACTUALLY HAD SIGNS maybe more people would camp there while visiting or passing through Belgrade. All in all the campground finding adventure is something we can know have a good laugh about. We left the campground for a few minutes to get some juice and water at a fuel station and were mostly happy to just not be driving anymore for the day. In case you haven't been keeping track, by this point in the trip it was Tuesday, July 31 and we were on day 6 of the adventure.
