In just a few short months, the Eurovision song competition will once again bring together, if not the most talented, at least some certainly unique acts from all over Europe and Eurasia! Recently, the Russian people voted and chose the group of musicians who will represent them in May. So here we have it, the Buronovskiye Babushki! A group of 6 (well, there are 8 in the group, but only 6 were allowed to perform in the competition) elderly women between the ages of 56 and 86(although the 86 year old does not go on tour) from the village of Buranova in the Udmurt Region. It seems a bit of an unlikely group to represent Russia in a contest that is usually filled with young, rising stars, but we'll see what kind of success the contest in May brings to these cute little babushki.
I can't resist sharing the third place group as well. Famous rapper Timati with opera star Aida. I don't think it worked out quite as well as they may have imagined.
Ok, how about a few Ukrainian competitors from years gone by.
This guy, from 2007, is just ridiculous!
Finally, some real talent!
